A successful Philadelphia singing group has lost one of its founding member, the deceased was shot and killed while visiting family in the city on Wednesday night.

Authorities say 26-year-old Joelill Foy was fatally shot in the neck while sitting outside his family’s South Philadelphia home on Sigel Street around 7 p.m.

Foy was an active member of the singing group โ€˜Brotherly Love,’ an act that performed on Good Day Philadelphia in 2014 and once sang for former President Barrack Obama.

“Anytime he sang, you just had to stop and listen,” Jeron Noel, a fellow member of Brotherly Love.

Band members disclosed that Foy was a father of two and was expecting a third when his life was cut short.

“They executed my little brother, man,” Noel said. “It’s unacceptable, it’s unacceptable, he wasn’t bothering anybody.”

Foy, according to band members, recently relocated to the west coast and was back in South Philadelphia visiting family.

King Kahsheef, another member of Brotherly Love, said Foy was murdered on the same block where their group began to take shape in high school.

Brotherly Love has not performed in a few years, but the members remain close. They’re now calling on the men in their hometown to step-up.

“Even if these kids is not your kids, I feel like as men we have a duty that weโ€™re not fulfilling right now, and our youth are hurting,” Noel said.

No arrests have been reported in relation to Foy’s shooting death and hence no motive known yet. Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call the Philadelphia Police Department. May his young soul find peace at last!
