Rap Empress Nicki Minaj asks fans to suggest a title for her new single

Onika Tanya Maraj-Petty, known professionally as Nicki Minaj, recently took to social media and conducted a poll asking her fans to help her choose a title for her new single. Interestingly, she solicited proposals for the same song that the singer announced earlier this month, titled “Freaky Girl”.

Nicki also indicated that the song will be released on August 21st. However, through her official Twitter account, Nicki has expressed her displeasure with the existing name Freaky Girl. While asking for suggestions for a name change, the singer also offered readers several options and created a poll to do so.

For the poll, Nicki submitted three names – Nick James, Super Freaky Girl and Freaky Girl. Shortly after she added the poll, more than 1,18,000 people voted for their choice. Nick James received the most votes.

The ‘Queen of Rap’ teased the release of the new single on July 22 via a social media post. Nicky shared a short video for the song on social media. She also informed her fans about new episodes of Queen Radio that will be streaming on the Amazon Amp app.

The long-awaited new episode of Queen Radio is set to air on August 11th. The singer also said that she will randomly select ten people for some purpose, which she has not yet revealed.

Notably, the upcoming single titled “Freaky Girl” will be the rapper’s first release since March. Minaj’s latest release was “We Go Up” in March 2022 in collaboration with Fivio Foreign. In addition, Minaj released several songs in the first half of 2022.

She joined Coi Leray for “Blick Blick” and partnered with Lil Baby for the single “Bussin”. This year, Minaj and Lil Baby recorded another song together, a single called “Do We Have A Problem?”

However, the title of her new single has yet to be revealed. We’ll see what the name of the song will be when it’s released.
