Discovering his passion for music at the tender age of 5, Jean-Robert Dray embarked on a lifelong journey of musical exploration. Initially self-taught, he honed his skills over the years and eventually met Daniel Gouin in 1973, who provided him with further guidance. In 1984, he achieved recognition by winning a prestigious competition in Mogador. Over the years, Jean-Robert's dedication to music led him to compose for various projects, including a short film that earned him acclaim in Ile de France. In 1998, he joined forces with his singer to form the Andante group, marking the beginning of a remarkable musical partnership.

Valérie's artistic journey began at the age of 17 when she embarked on a training program as an actress under the guidance of Jean Darnel. Over the years, she refined her craft under the mentorship of Béatrice Brout and explored the world of improvisation with Philippe Lelièvre. Valérie's passion for music and singing remained constant throughout her acting career, leading her to collaborate with Jean-Robert in a poetry association. Together, they created captivating compositions that captured the essence of their shared creativity.

In 2006, Valérie crossed paths with Richard Cross, further enhancing her vocal abilities, and later collaborated with Gérard Goyet in 2007. The Andante group's performances at renowned venues such as the Gibus and the Emergenza Festival garnered attention from industry professionals, including Régine, who welcomed them to her establishment in 2008. Subsequent collaborations with Patrick Jaoui and his label, Melissa Music, propelled Valérie's music onto the airwaves, paving the way for further recognition and opportunities.

Since 2011, the Andante group has continued to pursue their musical passion independently, releasing four albums that showcase their evolving artistry. Valériane's multifaceted talents extend beyond music, as evidenced by her authorship of the book "Petite enfance et plein air," published under the name Valérie Roy, which explores early childhood education and pedagogy.
