Maître Chien: The Musical Resilience Returns with “Allez Là”

Mr. Benjamins Avatar

After bringing light and fun during the lockdowns with his quirky hit “Pas de bras pas de corona,” Maître Chien, the maverick of French rap, makes a strong comeback with his new EP “Allez Là.” This track, straddling disappointed political expectations and a tribute to sports, is a true celebration of the Paris 2024 Olympics and the passionate fans who chant these words in stadiums and concerts.

Maître Chien, whose real name remains undisclosed, stands out as a unique MC. Originating from northern France, he found his distinctive flow in the lively beer festivals, using punchlines as savory as sausages. This unexpected blend of hip-hop, scratches, electro, and trap gives his music a hybrid and deeply original dimension.

Dressed in his iconic red puffer jacket, with a cone of fries in one hand and a cigarette in the other, Maître Chien roams the football stadiums. Standing resilient against the surrounding gloom, he embodies a figure of resilience and joy. His inimitable style, both festive and critical, captures the essence of the popular culture of supporters.

“Allez Là” is much more than a simple rap track. It’s a vibrant tribute to the Paris Olympics and stadium culture. Directed by Grégoire Graesslin, the music video for “Allez Là” delves into Maître Chien’s world, blending introspection and celebration. The lyrics, such as “Nan ça va pas ! Y’a un problème, là. T’as fini tout le nutella. Et tu veux la veste à Cruella,” reflect both social critique and disarming humor.

Maître Chien is distinguished by his direct and sincere approach to music. His rap is a mosaic of emotions where slapstick humor, scenes of bars and chip shops intertwine, all against the backdrop of sometimes harsh social realities. His new EP is produced by Olaf Hund and distributed by the Musiques Hybrides label, co-founded with Nicolas Police, ensuring total freedom of expression.

The artist already announces the upcoming release of the music video “Hydroalcooliques” featuring the talented actress Marlène Hennet, promising to transform hand sanitizer into a symbol of inebriation and liberation in the confined ghettos of rap.

Maître Chien’s new creations, expected throughout the summer and into the next winter, will continue to resonate with a combative and creative generation. Meet him on the football fields, parking lots, and neighborhood bars to discover the wild and authentic essence of MC Maître Chien, whose strength is etched on the brick walls of the North.
