About:
At the onset of highly respected New Mexico artist Def-i’s tour for his latest album, Deserted Oceans, the global pandemic hit and upended life as we know it. Def-i’s planned tour didn’t make it beyond his album release party. Although he could no longer share his music live with the world, he and recurring collaborator, Ariano, saw an opportunity to bring fans something unexpected. The duo flipped the script and prepare to drop a revamped version of the album, bringing you Oceans Deserted – The Remixes.

Oceans Deserted-The Remixes reimagines all of the original tracks from Deserted Oceans and serves up new sounds and vibes, sometimes presenting Def-i in a way that fans have never before heard him. Take “Woke Up Late” with LA’s Josh Dominguez on the hook – Def-i’s delivery takes on distinctly seductive vibe, a surprising departure from his usual stylings. New voices enter the fray on the album as well, with talented newcomer Sage Price dropping the hook on “Giving Thanks.” As an added bonus, Def-i and Ariano give listeners a brand new track with “American Quarantine.”
The message in the songs remains as powerful, but the sound is refreshed with Ariano’s production morphing from traditional hip hops beats into a more rock-driven platform that makes Oceans Deserted – The Remixes an entirely new experience to immerse yourself in.
